BMPS crosslinking reagent, N-(ß-Maleimidopropyloxy)succinimide ester, is a non-cleavable, water insoluble, heterobifunctional protein crosslinker that is commonly used to crosslink haptens to carrier proteins or enzymes to antibody. The BMPS crosslinking reagent's spacer arm length of 5.9 angstroms is the shortest of the C₃ homolog of aliphatic spacer series (see also EMCS crosslinker and GMBS crosslinker). BMPS crosslinking reagent's NHS ester and maleimide reactive groups react with amino and sulfhydryl moites, respectively.
