Deuterated Crosslinkers for Mass Spectrometry

Deuterated crosslinkers manufactured by ProteoChem are high quality deuterium-labeled crosslinkers, or "heavy" crosslinker analogs, for isotopically labeling protein and peptides in mass spectrometry (MS) research applications. ProteoChem's unique offering of ultrapure, deuterated crosslinking reagents allows researchers to rapidly analyze protein structure and protein-protein interactions.

Otherwise identical, heavy (d₄ or d₈) and light (d₀) crosslinker analogs are simultaneously utilized in a 1:1 ratio during the crosslinking reaction. The crosslinked protein or protein complex can then be digested in preparation for mass spec analysis. The resulting crosslinked peptides with an isotopic label are readily identified in the mass spectrum as peaks that only differ by four or eight mass units.
