DSP-d8 deuterated protein crosslinker, Dithiobis(succinimidyl 2,2,3,3,6,6,7,7-propionate-d8), is a cell membrane permeable, homobifunctional, protein crosslinker containing 8 deuterium atoms to provide an 8 Dalton shift by mass spectrometry compared to non-dueterated DSP (DSP-d0). DSP-d8 deuterated crosslinker has amine-reactive NHS esters at both ends of a cleavable, 8-atom (12.0 angstrom) spacer arm. DSP-d8 deuterated crosslinker contains a reducible disulfide bond (SS-bond) in the spacer arm that makes it a good choice for numerous applications where reversible crosslinking is desired.
Use the heavy DSP-d8 deuterated protein crosslinking reagent in combination with the light, non-deuterated analog (DSP-d0) for mass spec studies.
DSP-d8 deuterated crosslinker must be dissolved in an organic solvent, such as DMSO or DMF, and then may be added to an aqueous crosslinking reaction. Because DSP-d8 crosslinker is cell membrane permeable it can be used to crosslink intracellular proteins.
